Multigenerational Vacation
Bring the whole family together and enjoy quality time across generations — without giving up comfort or privacy.
Stay close while still having your own space: parents and children can relax in a spacious family room, while grandparents enjoy the comfort of a private double room. And if a little extra quiet is needed, separate sleeping options are always available.
During the day, there’s something for everyone. While the kids enjoy time with the ponies at the Reka Village and explore life around the stables, parents can unwind and recharge — whether at a nearby spa or simply surrounded by the beautiful Appenzell landscape.
For stays of three nights or more, complimentary access to the Appenzell baths is included with your holiday card, along with many additional local benefits.
In the evening, come back together as a family. Enjoy a relaxed dinner, discover local restaurants, or spend a cozy evening in the garden while the kids play nearby. End the day with a glass of wine on the terrace — or gather for a laid-back barbecue under the open sky.
We’re happy to help you plan your perfect day, so everyone — from the youngest to the oldest — can relax and make lasting memories.

Summer in Urnäsch
Where the intense heat is rare and the temperature stays a pleasant 25 degrees; where you can cool off in the river and have a drink on the terrace; where the kids play soccer, pétanque, cricket, or badminton in the garden; where you can still see the stars, the Milky Way, and shooting stars at night… that’s where you need to go!

Silvesterchläusen
The Silvesterchlausen festival takes place in Urnäsch on New Year’s Eve (December 31) and on Old New Year’s Eve (January 13) (if these dates fall on a Sunday, the event is held on the preceding Saturday). You should make arrangements for lodging as soon as possible (the Urnäsch Tourist Office maintains a list of available accommodations and will be happy to assist you). I also recommend reserving a table at a restaurant for the evenings of December 31 and January 13 (the Tourist Office can help with this as well).
When the Chlausenschuppel enters, the lights are turned off in most restaurants, the lights on the Chläuse’s headwear (if present) are lit, everything falls silent (talking is frowned upon, as is clapping), and then the Silvesterchläuse begin to sing. This wordless singing is called “Naturjodel” or “Zäuerli,” and I guarantee you, it gives you goosebumps! Whether it’s the Schönen, the Wüsten, or the Schönwüsten.
